Family Outing to Disney

Walt Disney World with a 4-year-old is a whole new experience. Seeing my daughter hug Mickey Mouse for the first time was amazing. There are so many things to do on the main strip, you just can't do them all. The Arabian Nights dinner theatre looked like fun, but we just didn't have time. The fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom was spectacular and the Fantasmics show at MGM should not be missed. Call ahead and book the dinner and Fantsmics show pass at the Hollywood Bowl and you'll get seats in a reserved section of the theatre (this reduces wait time for the show).

Pick up an I love Orlando book when you check-in. There are great coupons in the book for all of the local attractions except the main amusement parks.

Best Way To Get Around:

A ar rental gives you the most flexibility to see and do things all over Kissimmee.

Best Things Nearby:
Walt Disney World, all area attractions, and shopping

Best Things About the Resort:
It's right in the middle of everything. The unit was spacious and clean. The pool was great.

Resort Experience:
The resort was conveniently located within 20 minutes of Orlando’s international airport and only minutes from all the Disney parks. The resort was, in my opinion, very large, with over 10 pools and hundreds of units. The biggest drawback was the check-in procedure. I was told to park in a special lot, so I had to park hundreds of feet away from the clubhouse and walk to the clubhouse to check-in. While waiting in line for check-in, there were numerous staff members milling about, but only one person checking people in. Also, a staff member called 2 days before our check-out and told us that we had to meet with him to discuss the resort to avoid a long check-out procedure. Upon meeting him, it became obvious that this was a ploy to try and sell us another timeshare. Upon hearing I was a RCI exchange guest, he became very uninterested in me and said that he was very busy and would put me in the computer as having attended. PS: There is no express check-out, and I still had to go to the club house to check out.

This was definitely my least favorite of the four Disney parks. There is not a lot to do at each of the areas in the park (with only two or three major attractions in each of the four continents). This park requires a lot of walking for not a lot of fun. If you can't make it to all the Disney parks, this would be the one I would drop.
