Traveling to our destination of the Yasawa Island chain, we are constantly reminded of the complexity of the chain of islands - some long and flat with blindingly brilliant white sand beaches, others jagged and volcanic in nature with thick, lush tropical bush.
The "Cruise in Luxury, Dive in Paradise" is an exceptional 7-day trip. A spectacular alternative to both resort-based and traditional live-aboard diving, it is a holiday that caters to both divers and non-divers. Up to 15 dives are available during your 7 days, and you can do all, or some, and take part in the many non-dive-related activities that abound. The diving is best described as "stress-free." The dive boat temporarily moors alongside the ship, with dive masters, gear, and support staff all ready and waiting. Dive sites are alive with colorful gardens of hard corals, swaying vibrant soft coral walls, dazzling parrotfish, pelagics, and a kaleidoscope of tropical fish. The water temperature is always a mellow 80 to 85°F, with visibility at 60 to 100+ feet.
Non-diving activities include snorkeling, kayaking, village visits, island exploration, windsurfing, and more.
The beds were large and comfortable, the cabins fully air-conditioned, meals definitely five-star. The more industrious traveler could opt to join the 6am early morning daily swims, while I preferred to be lured by the perfume of freshly brewed coffee and homemade breakfast rolls. It was a breathtaking experience, one of luxury and adventure through the magnificent islands of Blue Lagoons.
