Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - Whether you're going there on your honeymoon or with friends, you'll find lots to do and you'll come home completely relaxed.

Hotel prices have a wide range, but it you want the quality and pampering of a resort, I recommend The Palmilla, located just outside San Jose Del Cabo and about a 30 minute drive from Cabo San Lucas. Be sure to go to The Office for their Fiesta and if you really want to get wild, The Giggling Marlin is the place to be. I highly recommend the cruise on The Sunderland, a sailing ship built in 1885. They offer both a sunset and snorkeling tour. If you have the cash, this is the best place to go deep sea fishing (we caught a lot of yellow fin tuna). You can easily rent a boat or even team up with other people and share the cost.

Quick Tips:

Try to pay for everything in cash (dollars work just as well as pesos). There's normally a pretty big charge for using a credit card (exception is your hotel).

Best Way To Get Around:

There is a bus system that runs between the two towns, but I don't know how much it costs or how often it runs. A taxi will cost you about to go between the two towns. You pay by the trip, not the person, so if you have a group, it can break down cheap.

The Palmilla Resort

The Palmilla is like a dream...every need is met...you feel very pampered. When you arrive, they meet you at your bus, take your bags to your room and offer you drinks while you check in, and give you a tour. The concierge will take care of everything you need. I had a dress I tear and the concierge took it into town, had it repaired, and delivered back to my room in a few hours! It's definitely an upscale resort, so be ready to spend some money. Mi Casa

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant! This one specializes in gourmet Aztec and Yucatan food. I recommend a beef dish called Chimole. While it may look like the black stuff that sticks to your barbeque grill, the taste is amazing! You'll be surprised how fast you devour it! We tried many of the menu selections, including appetizers and weren't disappointed with any of them. The seating is partial outdoor patia with stair-stepped tiers of tables. The back walls surrounding the area are painted with beautiful murals.

Snorkeling Tour on the Sunderland

The Sunderland was built in 1885 and was used in the remake of the movie 'Captains Courageous'. It's something like 110' long and sails like a dream. The crew is dressed up like pirates and even fire cannons at passing ships (they shoot wadded up newspaper). The captain tells the tell of the real local pirates...Sir Frances Drake (before he was knighted) and Cavindish. After sailing around Land's End, the ship throws anchor near Lover's Beach so you can snorkel (this is the best area to see many colors of fish).
