I initially went to Caloundra thinking that it would be a drag and that I would be bored my entire stay. But I was pleasently surprised--I REALLY enjoyed myself!

Overview

Quick Tips:

If you are going to be staying in Caloundra over a weekend, I would recommend that you visit the local markets, which are held every Sunday in some of the streets not too far from the beach. Not only can you get and choose from a variety of locally produced artifacts, but they are also very affordable.

Best Way To Get Around:

While it is possible to get around most of Caloundra on foot, I would recommend hiring a car so that you can get around more easily and have the opportunity to explore some of the beaches and the countryside further up the coast.

The accommodation at the resort was of very high quality. Each unit was very clean and tidy, and the resort grounds themselves were also well maintained.

Restaurant

There are many restaurants and cafes that you can visit when staying in Caloundra. Many of the cafes and even some of the restaurants are right on the beach, so you have a magnificent view whilst enjoying your meal. Prices can vary from place to place, but for the most part, prices start from around $15AD per meal (one course).

Attraction | "Local Beaches"

The beaches at Caloundra are absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for a beach at which you can swim, I would recommend that you visit both Golden and Kings beaches. On the other hand, if you are after a beach along which to have a leisurely stroll, then I would suggest that you travel about 5 minutes further north of Kings Beach, and you will come to a beach that has a couple of shipwrecks and is perfect for a stroll.
