An August 2005 trip to Key West by John from OK

Quote: The trip to Key West was a great time to get away from the everyday life. It is hot in August, and there are not as many people there at this time. There was plenty of time for food, fun, and relaxation.

The Marrero's Guest Mansion is a great place to go and get away, the pool is great, the rooms are nice, and the breakfast and happy hour are great.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville

Restaurant | "Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville"

Quote:
Margaritaville is part of a culture derived from Jimmy Buffet's songs. It is not a large place, but the service and the food are good. During the day it is a restaurant, but at night it becomes a bar with live music. The walls are decorated with items from his songs. Next door is a gift shop, the place to go for all those must-have Parothead items.

Grand Cafe Key West

Restaurant | "Grand"

We went for lunch to escape the heat and ate inside. This place is owned by Kelly McGillis and is very nice inside, but the food prices are very reasonable. The food is very good and the service is excellent.
