Everything about this resort and the Riviera Maya are great. We will return.

Quick Tips:

Snorkling in the Canotes was awesome!! Playa del Carmen was awesome!!

Best Way To Get Around:

RENT A CAR!! There is tons to do here!!
The accommodations were awesome, great—we couldn't have asked for more. We had a two-bedroom suite for three people. It was spacious and wonderful. Although it was hot and humid outside, we could always escape to our room to relax and cool off. It was a great resort! This suite would have had enough room for eight people.

Best Things Nearby:
Playa Del Carmen! Next time we'll go to Cozumel for scuba!

Best Things About the Resort:
This resort was great, everything from the activities staff to the food to the gift store. We couldn't have asked for a better time.

Resort Experience:
Well, it's Mexico. If you don't like Mexico, don't go. But if you do like Mexico, this is your escape. It's better than anywhere we've traveled. Customs was a hassle - do not forget your baggage claim ticket on the plane after too many cocktails.

Restaurant

Eat
The on-site restaurants were a bit pricey, but very good.

The local restaurants around the big towns (taco, beer, and chips and salsa) are always our favorite!! Anytime we could eat in town, we did.

Room service was good, too, more economical. Also, Costco is always a good bet, if you have a kitchen, for snacks and adult beverages.

It was amazing. This activity is something you can do nowhere else in the world. You are underground, swimming--it was crazy. If you have a problem being closed in, this is not for you. But, if you're out for an adventure, it's inexpensive and a rare experience.

Canotes
Cancun, Mexico

This travel experience was the best so far with RCI. These Mayan Palace Resorts (except Acapulco) are pure heaven! We didn't even go to downtown Cancun. We stayed in the Riviera Maya and had a blast. There was so much to do and so little time. The freeways are very safe to drive on and easy to get around anywhere you travel. After Cabo in 2006, we'll be back to this resort. There are great people and it’s a great time!!
