Mayan Palace Resorts are very popular within the RCI community, so I expected a lot more.

Construction
This town and resort were not really that great, sorry to say. Mexico is a fun place, and we'll return for many years and to the Mayan Resorts, but never again to Acapulco.

Quick Tips:

Go see the cliff divers (see pics). Maybe travel to this resort during non-construction time (see pics).

Best Way To Get Around:

Don't rent a car, as there is nothing worth seeing except the cliff divers. A taxi driver took us (three people) to see the show and dinner at a totally cool local place with a great view (I won't say the name, as I want it to stay a secret) and waited for us for .

The dining... well, it was good. The buffets were very well done. The desserts were a bit on the bland side, but there was a wide variety of other dishes to choose from on the entrée side.

We went often to local eateries, not the normal local attractions (Carlos & Charles, etc.), just local places for tacos, beer and chips and salsa. There is nothing like good local Mexican food - that is why we travel to Mexico most often.

The restaurants were a bit overrated.

Beach
The beach was unbearable, between the locals asking if we want horse/jet ski/boating, etc., and the lack of room to relax. By 9am there were NO available chairs. If you like sitting in the nasty sand, this is your place.
