My cousin and I had no itinerary except for a few major ones like Napa Valley, City Lights Book Store, and the Muir Woods. Here are all the fun things we ended up doing on our trip.

The Savoy is in a great location, right on Geary Street about a block away from the Theatre District and a few blocks away from Union Square and all the shopping on Market Street. We found that the closest bus stop was on Market Street, but that was according to our Frommer's. The hotel has two computers that can be used by guests for free, and is right next to the Millenium Restaurant. The restaurant offers a buffet-style breakfast for $7, but it only includes juice, coffee, cereal, fruit, bagels, etc. You might do betting by eating at one of the greasy spoons on Geary Street. Our room was a little on the small side, with a small closet and a bathroom. There was also a TV that had about 15 cable channels, included local stations, CNN, The Weather Channel, and TBS. Pay-per-view movies were available. The bed was amazing, with a Beautyrest mattress and Egyptian cotton sheets. The only downside to the hotel was that the noise from outside seemed to come right through the windows, especially if there were sirens going by. The fire department seemed to have a busy time during our stay, so that may not always be the case.

Crepes A Go Go

Restaurant

Crepes A Go Go

This little cafe is tucked away on the corner of Union Street and Filmore. We visited it three times over our five-day stay! The employees were very nice and helped us navigate the bus system after our meal. The restaurant offers your standard dessert crepes--Nutella combined with a fruit--as well as yummy main entree combinations. My favorite was the eggplant and sundried tomato crepe. All of the crepes are reasonably priced, no more than $6-7. This place was a refreshing find after being forced to pay the upscale prices of San Francisco dining.

Lefty O'Douls

Restaurant

Lefty O'Douls

Be warned that this is a buffet-style restaurant. We were hurried through the line by rude employees who didn't even give us a chance to decide what we wanted. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, and it was pretty salty. I wouldn't eat there again.

We visited this restaurant for lunch while shopping in the North Beach area. The service was excellent, although we were ushered in by a man who worked there trying to drum up business. We were served bread first and then split the eggplant Parmesan, which was really good.
