New Jersey/ New England Summer Road Trip

A July 2005 trip to Pittsburgh by PGH15238

We spent five days in Ocean City, NJ, then drove to Essex Fells, NJ, for a day to see my dad's college roommate. We then spent a week in Westbrook, CT, and during that week, we spent two days in Boston, MA. Coming home, we stoped in Lewisburg, PA.

This hotel is located right next to the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA. It is right on the T's Red Line which makes it easy to get around the city. The hotel is very nicely furnished. The rooms are nice with great views of Cambridge and Boston. The hotel is nicely equipted as well, with an indoor pool, a Starbucks, two concierge levels, a barber/beauty shop, two restaurants, a fitness center and health club.

It is located in Central Pennsylvania's Susquahanna Valley, two miles from Bucknell University. There are some fun things nearby include Knoebel's Amusement park, Clyde Peeling's Reptileland, Little League Museum. The hotel has a continental breakfast, two swimming pools, indoor and outdoor, hot tub, sauna, fitness room and children's playground. They have regular rooms with king and queen beds and also have whirlpool and loft suites. All rooms have irons and ironing boards, coffee makers, and cable televisions. Adjacent to the hotel is the Country Cupboard Restaurant, bakery and gift shop complex. That place has it all!

Best Western Country Cupboard Inn
Route 15 N Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Best Things Nearby:
Outlet malls, restaurants, and a movie theatre

Best Things About the Resort:
On the Long Island Sound, it has an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub, a restaurant, an outdoor bar and grill, and a spa.

Resort Experience:
The resort is in a very nice location looking over the Long Island Sound. On most days, you are able to see over to Long Island. There is a main building with regular hotel rooms and then, outside of the main building, there are timeshare villas. The resort has plenty of things to do. There are activities for children during the day at the pool and beach area, and at night there is live entertainment at the Sunset Bar and Grill. Everyday I stayed at the resort there was at least one wedding. On Sundays there is a huge buffet set up in the restaurant with loads of food and lots of people. In fact, it was voted Best Sunday Brunch in Connecticut by CT Magazine. The resort is great, and I know you'll have a good time if you stay there.

Fenway ParkBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Boston Red Sox Professional Baseball"

Fenway Park is the oldest and smallest baseball stadium in the MLB. It is a fun location to watch a game, but the comfort is not the best. You may have a hard time watching the game, depending on where your seat is located in the stadium. The fans are great, which makes the experience even better. Even though I would suggest that Boston get a new stadium, it is a very cool experience that will make you wonder whether you have been thrown into a time machine.
