The MarketMore Photos

Delft is highly known for their blue and white pottery, but it has so much more to offer. It is easy to get to by train from Amsterddam and also has many cute accomadations.

Overview

The outside markets on Thursday and Saturday are my favorite. Walking around is the best. You get the true experience of Holland by walking the brick streets and admiring the buildings and homes on the Oude Delft Street. This is a University town (technical), so watch out for all the student bikers.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Walking and if you dare biking. It took me a year to feel comfortable biking. The canal trip is a nice way to see the city. Driving is for the experience Dutch driver only. I often had heart failure when my husband would park next to the canal (no railing)!

Hotel

Museum Hotel
A very quaint hotel in the heart of Delft. The rooms are very clean and small. The bells from the church could scare you to death! If there is a big fraternity party, you may be awoken by drunken students. The service is very good.

The Delft Museumhotel is situated on the oldest canal in Delft, alongside the city museum ''Het Prinsenhof''. The hotel with 49 luxurious rooms and 2 romantic suites with whirlpool is housed in canalside historical buildings and in the nearby ''Residence''. The Residence comprises eight adjoining 17th and 18th century historical homes and has a courtyard garden.
