Hotel | "JW Marriott Resort and Spa"

Lobby
It was a standard room, with two beds and a balcony with an ocean view. The bathroom was huge, with a shower and a bathtub. There was a separate room for the toilet and dual sinks.

We went on a boat trip to Isla Mujeres, but it started raining heavily. We were so bummed, so we hitched a ride back to our hotel. The thing is that no one seemed to want to go back to their hotels. We even asked a few people where they were staying, and they said that they didn't care much for it. Our hotel was luxury. We were pampered by the hotel staff.

We even went to CasaMagna Marriott to compare. WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE! It is SOOO humid IN THE HOTEL!! They have no A/C. JW MARRIOTT IS THE BEST!! It feels good the minute you step into the lobby.

IT SUCKED!!! I can't tell you how rude they were. It was pouring rain, so how can we enjoy a day of shopping and lying out on the beach? WE CAN'T! We asked for a refund. THEY DON'T GIVE REFUNDS! That's a load of crap. We planned it for another day. It rained then, too, but we were already on the island. The only thing that is worth it is the other activities ON THE BEACH. Plus, Isla Mujeres was dirty and grimy. I hated it there. Oh! And the continental breakfast is fruit (with flies swarming). And the buffet? That was okay, but I suggest that you get the food as soon as they open the lids, because bugs are everywhere. Oh! And they overcharged my credit card, which I can't deal with right now because I'm mad! I HATE AQUAWORLD!!

ParasailingBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

We ended up parasailing with a group other than AquaWorld (which turned out to be the best--see AquaWorld's trip to Isla Mujeres). WOW! Now, I'm afraid of heights, but this experience was AMAZING--so much so that I really want to do it again! It was 15 minutes in the air, but that's plenty of time. They take you out to the boat in a jetski. You get on the boat and wait for your turn (may cause seasickness). Then you saddle up with these ropes. I thought, "This is it?? These ropes are going to hold me up?" But it did. It felt like you're on swings. Oh! When they reel you back in, they let the rope loose so that you get dunked in the ocean AND THEN drag you back in, so hold your breath. We ended up screaming on impact and swallowed sea water and snorted some too! Burned our nose and throat for a while...

Downtown Open Air MarketBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Downtown shopping"

CRAZY! Be prepared to haggle with the shopkeepers. They will up the price about 50% to 75% more than original. They can be rude sometimes, and you don't need to take that. There are plenty more stores with the same items. Start walking out if they can't cut the price at least 50%. The airport ended up having a few items that my friend bought CHEAPER (usually airports are more expensive). NOTE: Lots of phallic items were being sold. EEK!
