I thought I was staying on the Summer Bay Resorts property, as I was told by the booking agent from the resort as I planned my trip. I was traveling with them to explore the possibility of purchasing a timeshare on their property. However, I was unpleasantly surprised to learn, once I arrived, that my family and I were staying across the street at a "roach" (literally) motel. When I brought my complaint and discomfort to their attention, they informed me that they have no control and it wasn't them but their marketing company that put me there. If I wanted to move onto the property, I’d have to pay an additional $260 to stay. I am a single mom who was traveling on a budget and didn't have it budgeted to have to spend more to enjoy my family vacation, which I thought was at a resort. I would caution anyone who is considering traveling with them and exploring purchasing. Their resort is beautiful, but apparently, it is VERY unlikely that you will stay on the property unless you are an owner. I will never travel with them and will continue to discourage friends/family from it as well.
