Hotel | "The Summit at Bolton Valley"

The Summit
Best Things Nearby:
The pedestrian mall in Burlington on Lake Champlain. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, the Cabot Cheese Factory, and the Shelburne Museum in Shelburne. There are also many antique shops and a great regular flea market (every weekend) nearby!

Best Things About the Resort:
The units and grounds are very nicely kept. There is also a very good restaurant (Bailys) on site with a very lively bar! They also have a small grocery store that carries just about anything one would run out of. For the sports minded, there is tennis (with rental equipment available), cross-country bikes for rent, and a rec hall with a pool, small café, and a game room.

Resort Experience:
The unit we were in had not been totally refurbished as of yet, but was not a disappointment. It was very clean and well furnished, with two full baths, a full kitchen, and a good-size living/dining room. There were two double beds in the bedroom. But six could be easily accommodated with the "cool" trundle bed and the pull-out couch.

We enjoyed a great view from the balcony, and you can't beat the crisp mountain air, warm days, and cool nights in this beautiful greenest of green states.

Attraction | "Northern Lights Cruise Boat"

Northern Light
The tour was very peaceful and educational. Even if you don't take one of the meal cruises, there are snacks and beverages available. The cruise lasts 1½ hours, so it isn't too long for little ones.

The boat was brand new and beautifully appointed with plenty of seating.

While you’re waiting to disembark, you can enjoy the Breakwater Grill & Cafe right there on the dock. The menu was basically burger-type food, and we were lucky enough to catch live entertainment.

There are some fabulous boats tied up to the same dock... it was fun to see how the "other half" plays!

Attraction

This place is fabulous! It is 45 acres with 39 exhibition structures. Twenty-five historic structures have been moved there, including a New England lighthouse, a 220-foot paddle boat ,and a covered bridge. There is also a huge collection of Americana, folk and fine art, quilts, and glassware from all over the world. Most of which was collected by one rich, eccentric lady!

The museum is so large that they will stamp your hand to go back a second day! You can walk it... but for the faint of feet, there is a trolley bus with frequent stops! There are many hands-on activities for the kids!

Attraction | "Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory Tours"

This was a fun, laid-back tour! There is plenty of parking and it is definitely kid friendly.

We went very early, so it was not crowded, but reservations are recommended. Ice cream is not made every day, so it is wise to call for a schedule.

Food& Drink
Bailey's is very nice, with prices ranging from $7 to $20. The food is very good, with good-size portions. The dining room is very attractive, with linen tablecloths. There is also an outdoor patio!

There is a very lively bar with friendly service and a great beer selection! This is perfect for those of you who hate to drink and drive!
