I like to see the blue of the lake water, the green of grass, and the white from the snow! These are great colours for a relaxing view. It feels like you're going back in time.

What a great view!! From Lucerne, you can take bus no. 1 to Kriens and get out at Lindenplatz. After walking about 5 minutes in the direction of the mountains and on the way indicated, you can take a cable car, and in 30 minutes, you will be at the top. To come down, you can make the same way back or go down by cable car to Alpnachstad. Also, you can go up and down by just walking.

I traveled from Lucerne to Engelberg by train and up to Titlis (3,020 metres above the sea level). There was a nice view up to mountain--green is the first colour that comes to our eyes. I had the pleasure of going up in a Rotair car-cable, "the only in the world", a few metros up the glacier. It was the first time that I'd gone inside a glacier and touched the crystal ice. In Titlis, you can find a lot of unforgettable experiences, like rollicking on snow tubes, snowboarding, halfpipe, kicker, rails...

Visit "the dying Lion of Luzern," a famous monument. It was carved out of the natural rock in memory of the heroic deaths of the Swiss soldiers killed at the Tuileries in 1792. In few metres, you are able to visit the Glacier Garden, a journey and discovery through 20 million years of Luzern. In here, you can visit between many things, like Alhambra, the hall of mirrors, an attraction with 90 mirrors.

The Spreuer Bridge was completed as a part of the city's fortifications in 1408. It's called Spreuer Bridge because chaff (Spreu) and leaves could be dumped into the Reuss only here.

It is a nice to have a friendship for so many years and great to see old friends. Thanks, Franzi, for the dining. The Raclette, typical Suisse meal, was perfect. I will always remember that night we went to Luzern Lake to watch fireworks. A kiss to Franzi and Markus!!!

Luzern

Story/Tip

Quote:
This is a city whose old town dates back to the Middle Ages. It has a lake with Europe's most extensive inland navigation and a panorama of the Alps, both of which provide an ideal setting for combining excursions and allowing the visitor to explore and experience the Lake Luzern region from a different angle. Lucerne and its lake are often referred to as the "essence of Switzerland." In a small amount of space (57,817 inhabitants), this region embodies almost everything that is a part of Switzerland.
