Hotel | "Intercontinental"

As you would expect from an Intercontinental, this is a great hotel.

We were lucky enough to get a room on the club floor, so we had access to the club lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening drinks and canapés, and because of this, I have no idea what the other bars and restaurants are like!

The hotel location is great - a taxi to Leicester Square costs about £8, and the underground is a 5- minute walk (Piccadilly Line, providing easy access to Heathrow and the city centre). Buckingham Palace is only a few minutes walk, and in 30 minutes, you can walk into Soho and Theatreland.

The hotel is closed for renovations in October 2005 for 4 months or so, and presuming the staff does not change too much, in 2006, it should be even better.

Restaurant

This is a great Indian restaurant in the heart of Theatreland.

It has a fantastic location and incredible prices! Each month, the menu features food from three Indian regions, so it is always changing. The food is fantastic - not just the standard Indian-food-for-Englishmen stuff they have in most Indian restaurants. We had a regional feast, and at £11.99 for three courses, were well impressed. We will definitely return, especially since by the time we get the chance, the menu will have changed.
