Overview

kayaking
The highlight of this trip would have to be McCall, Idaho. Kayaking and hiking were a few of the fun things to do here.

Quick Tips:

Go to Burgdorf, which someone has already recommended on this sight. It is the best hot springs I've been to in Idaho.

Best Way To Get Around:

A 4WD vehicle is best, but 2WD is okay in the summer.

I had the best halibut sandwich I have ever had. Everything we had there was out of this world! It was a unique dining experience! The atmosphere is fun, and it is a smoke-free experience, despite the fact that they sell fine cigars.

The Chinese built underground communities after immigrating to the US in hopes of finding gold during the Gold Rush. They were treated poorly and were forced to go underground. The tour is amazing. The guide was entertaining. You will see the opium dens and Chinese jails, and learn of the illegal activities that took place there. You will also take a tour of the "cozy rooms," brothels operated during that time. A reservation is best. The phone number is 800/226-6398.

Red Fish Lake
This lodge is located near Stanley, Idaho. It is nestled in the mountains and has a spectacular view of the Sawtooth Mountains. The lake is crystal clear. There are cabins or hotel rooms available. You can rent a boat, canoe, kayak, or paddle boat. My daughter and I rented kayaks and took a 3-hour trip across the lake to a hiking spot on the other side of the lake. You can hike in the canyon.
Depot Bay
Whale-watching is the main activity in Depot Bay. You can take a cruise for less than $40 per person. The cruise we took lasted an hour, and we saw several whales. The name of the charter boat we took was Dockside Charters. The phone number is 800/733-8915. The captain was very friendly and made the trip well worth the money.
