Resort Experience:
This resort is beautiful! The resort has an indoor/outdoor pool, lazy river, and hot tubs on site. It also has Breezes Beach Club directly across the street, which is a members-only clubhouse-type area with a grill, hot tub, pool, and beach access. There is a complimentary shuttle from the resort to transfer you to Breezes, as well as to other area attractions such as Broadway at the Beach or the Mall.
We checked in after midnight and were promptly greeted by the night security guard, who checked us in with no trouble, as our paperwork was right on the front desk for him. It was only two of us, but since this was a last-minute idea, all that was available was a two-bedroom unit. It was huge. It had a master bedroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower with a television and private balcony. It also had a full living room with pull-out bed, a full kitchen, and another complete bedroom with a another full bathroom/shower. The best part was the washer and dryer in the room! That came in handy!
The grounds are well maintained, even though there is still construction going on. They are in the process of completing a swim-up pool/bar that would be right outside of our room that we were in.
The location of this resort is PERFECT! It is at the very south end of Myrtle Beach, but don't let that scare you away. Everything is still relatively close, but with a lot less traffic and noise! The Springmaid Pier is VERY close, and Damon's Restaurant is on the ocean beside the Breezes Beach Club. The resort is located on a golf range, and right behind it is a mini-golf attraction too!
The prices at the grill are reasonable, and the food was pretty good. We had a cheeseburger and a grilled chicken sandwich overlooking the pool and ocean!
Not too much negative to say about this one, except that the elevators are a little slow to only have to go up three or four floors, and if you ride a motorcycle, be sure to ask at the desk for a kickplate board. The asphalt is very soft, and the motorcycle kickstands tend to sink in the heat. This could cause a bike to tip over.
Our ride home was not as great, as it rained very hard all the way from Myrtle Beach to Knoxville, TN, but it was still definitely worth the trip. This resort was an answer to my prayers when I wanted a peaceful, relaxing getaway to the beach! I found a little piece of heaven at South Beach Resort. We definitely look forward to the Beach Front Phase to be built soon!
