Las Vegas has it all, from the usual gambling (slots, blackjack, etc.) to the nice trips out of the glitz to see the beautiful desert landscape. For gambling, you can just stay at the HGV Hilton and take a short walk to the main Hilton's casino. Very nice, bright, good service. For short trips outside town, get in the car and drive to Red Rock Canyon. The rock colors are incredible. You can just drive through the park area or take a nice walk.Quick Tips: When booking shows, research all shows and book them before you go, especially if they're popular shows. Vegas.com is a great site. There is a great Elvis show at the Fitzgerald in downtown (old town area) along Fremont Street. The night show...Read More

Beautiful, quiet, clean, safe, convenient. It was much more than we expected. The HGV Club is NOT in the LV Hilton, which we thought originally. But that turned out to be a good thing, as it made for a much quieter stay at nights (when most casino resorts are noisy all the time).

Best Things Nearby:The famous Las Vegas Strip, the casino at the Hilton (a short walk away), the M&M store on the Strip (a must-see!).Best Things About the Resort:This resort is wonderful because it's quiet, clean, has plenty of parking, great staff, nice views, easy access in and out of the resort, and spacious rooms with nice kitchens.Resort Experience:The huge bonus to the HGV Club at the LV Hilton was its location. You were almost on the famous LV Strip (it's within view), yet you were far enough away from it to enjoy the peace and quiet of not being at a casino resort. You can take an easy stroll to the main Hilton to gamble, take the rail to t...Read More

Grand Canyon National Park

IF you decide to get out of Vegas, there are some wonderful trips. Of course, there is the Grand Canyon (about 5 hours away). This is a tough day trip, so book a motel south of the park for a night.

Red Rock Canyon is a short drive and is beautiful (rock colors, formations). Easy drive or walk through the park.

Zion National Park is also within a drive of LV. Again, probably worth an overnight stay at the lodge there (beautiful!)... but the rock formations and colors were something I've never seen (and incredible!).

If you've never been to Vegas, it has it all. You can do the typical gambling thing and dozens of casinos (downtown, on the Strip, or off the Strip). Some favorites are the Luxor, Gold Coast, and the Venetian, but there are so many, including the new Wynn (very crowded!).

Free shows are everywhere (see vegas.com), and the other "pay" shows are usually very professional (and expensive). Book those shows early!

See the M&M store on the Strip. Ethel M’s is fun too. Some of the outer casinos have great family stuff (bowling alleys and such).

Travel outside of Vegas to see some of the desert beauty.
