A car is a definite must because there's much to see on day trips. The resort hosts daily tours to nearby attractions and even as far away as Sevilla. We visited the Alhambra at Granada (reservations strongly recommended, which the front desk handled), the charming, picturesque town of Ronda (our favorite), and drove to Jerez de la Frontera for the Andalucian horse show. Locally, we attended a flamenco show on the recommendation of the staff and found a couple of great local markets that were big, fun, and full of everything you could need.Quick Tips: Best Way To Get Around: While cabs are available (it's about 40 euro to the airport), a car is the preferred method of transportatio...Read More

Best Things Nearby:75 miles of continuous city along the coast, with Marbella as the jewel that draws the rich and famous, and with good reason - great shopping and beaches; however, Fuengirola may be more authentically Spanish.Best Things About the Resort:Centrally located along the coast; very well maintained inside and out; two pools; excellent service.Resort Experience:We had a two-bedroom unit, generously sized, with no A/C, but ceiling fans kept the temperature comfortable. Day trip to Granada / Alhambra: About 1.5 hours from Malaga area through picturesque, hilly terrain. As the guidebooks tell you, reservations are almost mandatory; it's the most visited site in Spain. Although the Moorish castle was very cool - dramatic, beautifully restored, stunning mosaics, and amazing architecture - the fort and Charles V palace weren't any great shakes. There are only a couple of food options, none of which is very good. Plan at least half a...Read More
