Quick Tips:
You can change only US dollars here, no euros. The best place to arrange horse treks and other activities is Fairfield's Cafe. The fair-trade wool craft shop is a good point to check in at the Naran hotel building.Best Way To Get Around:
Buses to Tsetserleg leave from the Dragon bus station in Ulaanbaatar 8 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. One person is 8,500 tugrug, and the ticket must be purchased one day before. Jeeps, minivans, and other private vehicles sometimes leave from the Dragon station as well but more often from the old bus station (Teeveriin Tovchoo). These vehicles leave several times a day when they fill up (usually they have around 20 people for 12 places, so it might be cozy).
If you are a small group, it is convenient to rent a jeep that will go straight, and you can stopover for lunch in Kharkhorin. Cost per person has recently been around 12,000 to 15,000 tugrug per person. It usually takes around 8 hours to Tsetserleg. The Ulaanbaatar-based charter flight company Blue Sky Aviation can take you 1.5 hours to Tsetserleg for about . The maximum load is about 1,000 kg or nine passengers.
Once in Tsetserleg, there are plenty of jeeps at the market to hire for about /day plus petrol.
