The bus was late, so I got chatting to a Peruvian called Elias whilst we waited. He turned out to be a driver too, so we had a lot in common. He could tell me about delivering water, and I could tell him about delivering ice cream. My Spanish managed to cope with the conversations we had, but it would be nice to know some more. The bus journey turned out to be one of three halves (work that out mathematicians!). The first leg of 3 hours led us through the mountains and to a small village, where we stopped for lunch.
