You can find boiled peanuts, roasted peanuts, corn (in the husk), tomatoes, field peas, green beans, watermelons, and all kinds of fresh summer treats. Parking is limited downtown, but spaces can easily be found if you are not afraid to walk a block or two. Admission is free. The vendors here are very courteous and are not pushy at all. In fact, you may have to push them a little.
Some of the crafts you may find include: manmade afghans and blankets, Native American jewelry, hand-carved wooden pottery, and paintings and sculptures from local artists.
The Broad St. Market is enhanced by local culinary gurus such as Hot Foods By Calvin. Calvin and his team have been making and catering their Southern Cuisine her for years and are always a favorite. They are both reasonably priced and especially delicious. They are fancy enough for any occasion and can take their hair down with the best of us!

Ask questions about everything. The vendors are from all over the area and are a valuable resource for a quick history lesson.
Best Way To Get Around:
Definitely by car. If you are staying at the Radisson Over the River, you are in walking distance for this Saturday morning stroll through time.
All the downtown hotels are within walking distance. For those of you staying closer to I-20, ask your concierge for directions to downtown.
