Volterra is a neat little town in Italy. While very small, it still has things worth seeing. For example, the town is famous for its alabaster creations, and a tour of an alabaster workshop is rather interesting. While on a tour, you see a demonstration of how shapes are created from alabaster and get to see works in progress. You also get to hear a detailed history of the individual workshop. After the tour, you enter the gift shop where you can purchase alabaster items at a significantly discounted price. I purchased a mini Colosseum and a theatre as reminders of Volterra's well-known trade.
