Family Vacation to Cedar Point, OH

An August 2003 trip to Sandusky by LeahBeth1

Family vacation to a great amusement park in Ohio

Cedar Point is a great family amusement park with awesome roller coasters and a good water park. You can't do it all in one day, I would suggest two or three to see the park and really experience Cedar Point. Definintely ride a few of the big coasters, and also take time to visit the water park and the beach.

Quick Tips:

I would recommend visiting the Cedar Point website before going to find a hotel, and learn about the rides so you can be prepared ahead of time.

Best Way To Get Around:

Within the Cedar Point "complex", walking is preferred, but since it is a small community, driving around is easy, and I believe some of the close hotels might offer rides into the park.
Everything at Hotel Breakers was very clean and upscale, and it was very convenient to the park - we even got to go in an hour early. We had a nice dinner at one of the restaurants (Italian), but the TGI Fridays was extremely crowded. The hotel is on a beach, which was nicer than I had expected, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed a great nighttime walk on it. Overall, Hotel Breakers had a historic feel, but with a perfect location and awesome hotel rooms. (If you are looking for a budget hotel, though, this is not it!)
