Obviously, we came here to ski and have a good time. I would strongly suggest that you participate in night skiing at least one night. It can get bitterly cold, so dress warm, but the view and the experience is well worth it. In addition, go snow tubing, which is not nearly as high stress as skiing and a lot of fun to just let loose. We had so much fun during those 3 hours of tubing. Even if you are an advanced skier, make sure that you do some of the green and blue runs, especially Hooten-Hanny (I think that's how it is spelled). They are incredibly picturesque, and you will be glad that you decided to take in the beauty. Also, make sure that you try the outdoor hot tub, especially if it is sn...Read More

I went here once while we were at Snowshoe, and the food was wonderful! It is just pizza, sandwiches, and simple food, but it was great for lunch! We stopped one day when we were in the middle of skiing (the hunger pains were just too much). They have beer and wine available; I did not indulge because I was a little afraid of the combo with my lack of coordination already on the slopes. All the pizza is cooked in a fire-brick oven, and you can really taste the difference. In addition to the traditional types of pizza, they have an assortment of specialty flavors. We settled for a Hawaiian pizza and were very happy with it. The crust was nice and crispy on the outside, but not to the point of be...Read More

Snowshoe is a wonderful place to go! They were running a Spring Break package when we went and we paid around $350 for five nights, six lift tickets, rentals, and our condo! It was a great bargain, and I would suggest it for college students as well as families. Snowshoe is ski-in ski-out so you never have to worry about trying to find parking when you want to ski. It was literally 50 feet from our condo to the ski run. In addition there is a shuttle that will pick you up to take you either to another ski run, your room, restaurants, or the other ski resort. The weather was beautiful when we went (mid-March). The entire resort is at the top of the mountain not at the bottom. It was wa...Read More

Snow tubing is on the other set of runs in Snowshoe (where the night skiing is), so you have to either take the shuttle there or drive. Take the shuttle; that's what it is there for. It costs $10 for 2 to 3 hours, I can't remember, and is well worth that $10. In addition, there was a discount for senior citizens and children. You get on the inner tube and they connect you to a tow rope that actually pulls you up the hill, which is nice, because I would never have made it more than a few times if I was walking. Then you sit down, lie down, run, and slide down the hill. The run all the way to the left is the fastest, and then they get progressively slower from then on. Ther...Read More
