The bathrooms are marble, and the stainless-steel sinks that add a nice decorative touch. The small wall-unit air-conditioner was noisy and not adequate for 100+ degree weather in the summer. Everything has been completely renovated. A local dining at the restaurant informed us that a fire had destroyed the original motel. It has a small pool behind the main lobby that is a quiet gathering place for guests. The personnel in the lobby boast about hiking trials, but it was about a 2-minute walk, not a hike.
The location is about 20 yards off Highway 70, which is not very desirable because of traffic noise. A golf course surrounds the motel. Everything else you want to do you need to drive to.
The lobby had a free continental breakfast and high-speed Internet access at a computer near the front desk, a nice perk in an area that feels very remote and has very limited cell phone service. The lobby is decorated in the lodge theme, with leather sofas and an adequate "wine" bar. Wine prices seemed reasonable, although I never saw anyone in the bar area. A full-service Starbucks counter was a highlight of the accommodation, and apparently a rarity in these parts.
It was a good location to accommodate a large group and has a very family-oriented atmosphere. We stayed here while attending a wedding, but unless we wanted a remote golf getaway, I would not return to Graeagle.
