I went with my choir group, and we went to many different places and got to do so much stuff people normally wouldn't do.

The most memorable moment is the bus ride there and back with 120 students and about 6 adults to make sure we didn't do anything too stupid. One of the best things to do is see a Broadway show in New York. They are so good. It is also nice to be able to meet some of the actors for a workshop.

Quick Tips:

Make sure you get the most out of your trip. There are so many more things to do than just the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Empire State Building. Those places are wonderful to see, but there is so much more.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walk, walk, walk. Or, if you are staying out of New York, rent a car or take a taxi, park it, and walk most of the time. (Watch out for the taxi drivers while walking, as they don’t care who you are and are just trying to get to their destination.)

Outside of the Hard Rock Cafe on our way to eat there
The Hard Rock Cafe is such an awesome place to eat no matter which city you are in. It's fun and inviting, and they have good music and a good gift shop.

The items they have on the wall and ceiling are amazing. There are so many things from different actors, and they have a horse from a carousel and an astronaut hanging from the ceiling.

Everyone on their way to see an awesome broadway show
I saw Cabaret and Gypsy. It was so amazing watching the people act and sing. The setting you are in kind of reflects what’s going on in the plays also.

I went to the Empire State Building at about 8 at night. It was one of the most amazing things I have seen. You could see all the lights of New York. The wind was a little breezy, but otherwise it was beautiful.

Outside NBC Studios for the tour
It is really cool being able to see where some of the shows we watch are actually recorded. On our tour, one of the students got to pretend to be a weatherman, and it's not as easy as it seems--let's just say that.

Brooklyn Bridge

Activity

This is only half of the bridge since it was too long from where i was standing to get it all in one picture
We didn't actually get to drive over the bridge, but we stopped at a port to go shopping and were able to go in back of the building and see the bridge. It's amazing how people can build huge bridges over water.

Ground Zero

Activity

They placed this on the sidewalk after 9/11
This is one thing everyone has to see in their lifetime. It is so heartbreaking when you see all the letters from loved ones on a wall just outside the area of Ground Zero. They have a tall fence up so you can't get inside at all, but you are still able to see the progress they are making.

Ground Zero
Formerly the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan New York, New York

My choir took a tour of Rockefeller Center, and when we got on stage to look out at the audience that wasn't there, we got to sing on stage. It was so cool being able to say we sung where famous people had sung. The chandeliers in the entryway weigh about 2 tons; I'd hate to clean them.

A picture of just the Statue looking up from the ground.
The Statue wasn't as tall as I thought it was going to be, but it was still amazing. When my choir went, it wasn't open to go inside the statue, but we still got to sing around the tall flag post they had on the island.
