Best Things Nearby:The beach, miniature golf, the greyhound dog track, a huge flea market, and the Motor SpeedwayBest Things About the Resort:It is located directly on the beach, and all of the units have a balcony that faces the ocean.Resort Experience:We stayed in a one-bedroom condo, which was roomy enough for two adults and two small children. Tropic Shores is located directly on the beach, and every unit has a beautiful view of the ocean. Sitting on the balcony in the early mornings or late evenings is so therapeutic. Listening to the sounds of the waves was so soothing after a hot day at the beach. It amazes me to see cars driving on the beach during the...Read More

Bubba Gump Shrimp at Ocean Walk Resort

Restaurant | "Bubba Gump Shrimp Company"

I absolutely love this chain! The first time I'd visited one was in New Orleans, and neither one was better than the other, and that's the way it should be. They cater to the family, give you large portions, and entertain you. I took my mother for her birthday and this was her first time experiencing Bubba Gump. They tried to make her stand on a chair and dance while they sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Even though she didn't dance, she is still talking about how huge and delicious the coconut shrimp was that she ordered. You must go and dine with them while you are there...it's for the whole family.

Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

Attraction | "Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station"

Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse is the tallest in Florida and the second tallest in the nation. There are 203 steps to the top for breathtaking views of the Florida coastline and the Halifax River from Daytona Beach to New Smyrna Beach. See the restored third order Fresnel lens turn and shine in the Lantern Room.

This National Historic Landmark is one of the few light stations in the country with all the original keepers' dwellings and outbuildings still intact. Step inside the white picket fence and discover what life was like on a remote Florida peninsula in the 1800s, and marvel at the courage of the lighthouse keepers and their families.
