Restaurant | "Hard Rock Cafe"

This Hard Rock Cafe was a neat experience. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, which was very similar to the Hard Rock Cafes of America. If you are in the mood for a break from French cuisine, try the Hard Rock.

Cathédrale Notre-DameBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Notre Dame Cathedral"

Notre Dame
Notre Dame. There is only one word that even comes close to granting justice as a description of this cathedral: stunning. The architecture on the outside is ornate and somewhat formidable-looking, but is positively amazing. Inside, the cathedral is just as beautiful.

When you enter, there is an area where you can light a candle in memory of a loved one, which is a cool thing to do. I lit one in memory of my grandmother there- after all, how many people have the chance to say they lit a candle in remembrance of a loved one at Notre Dame? If you can, listen in on a tour group's guide outside of the cathedral to learn fascinating history about it. Inside the guides don't really talk out of respect for the church.

Château de VersaillesBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Versailles"

Fountain at Versailles
Versailles, the palace of the Sun King, is amazing. I was not all that impressed by the actual palace, which is huge and gaudily decorated. However, I was infatuated by one room in this magnificent structure - the Hall of Mirrors. The Hall of Mirrors is such an important piece of history, and it felt amazing to stand in the very room in which the Treaty of Versailles was signed. I could almost picture being in this hall when that famous event occurred.

Even better than the palace itself are the grounds on which it stands. The gardens, fountains, flora and fauna, and statues were positively gorgeous. This is a location where you could easily return a second day and still have things left to see. The gardens are so astounding that if I could get married anywhere in the world, they would be the location of choice. Don't miss this great piece of history and breathtaking sight!

MontmartreBest of IgoUgo

Attraction

I did not have much time to spend at Montmartre, but I highly recommend taking the time to get there. It is an artsy area where you can have sketches of yourself done and buy a variety of artwork at fairly reasonable prices. Be sure to see the beautiful white building on the hill if you go to Montmartre.

Looking Down
The Eiffel Tower is a wonderful sight. I didn't realize that it was actually brown in color until I visited it in person. I expected the Eiffel Tower to be large, but it is almost overwhelmingly huge. Of course this is a must-see spot if you are in Paris; just be sure that you have time to wait in long lines.

As you climb to the different levels, take the time to stop on each one and look down at the city surrounding you. It is a magnificent sight, and by doing this at various levels, you get a sense of how high you really are as you climb, because you can see the change in the size of objects as you continue your climb. Helpful hint: Take a jacket with you on your climb, because it gets chillier as you get higher.

SeineBest of IgoUgo

Attraction | "Seine Boat Tour"

The boat tours on the Seine are fun outings. You get a great view of Paris, and if you want a narrated version of the tour, that option is available. I had a nice relaxing time on the tour. Just be sure to bring a jacket if you sit on the outside of the boat.
