Piccolo Hotel in Portofino

The hotel sits on the road, quite literally. There is barely even a curb between the pavement and the door. This is the only hotel in Portofino with a beach, although we never did get to it. The walk to Portofino is beautiful and serene along the hillside. Our room was small by American standards, medium by European standards, although I would think the bathroom was small by anyone's standards. The drain was in the middle of the bathroom, with a shower curtain that went through the middle of the room. So, if you're in the shower, your spouse will not be shaving in the mirror. Despite this, I would still stay here again, especially since the Splendido is way out of our budget, as is most of Portofino.
