By far the best and most entertaining thing to do while in Rothenburg is to take the night watchman's tour. Meet in the town center and take a tour around the city, listening to the "night watchman" give a facinating thousand-year history.

Quick Tips:

Best Way To Get Around:

Lodgings were moderate but sufficient and clean. A nice place for the budget traveler and not too far from the town center. I've stayed here both times I've visited Rothenburg.

Spitalgasse 28 Rothenburg, Germany

Beginning to end, it was facinating. Very interesting to hear the history of the city and about medieval life. The tour guide offered a lot of personality and character to the tour. Highly recommended!
