Riviera Maya Getaway

An April 2005 trip to Cancun by thumper1

We stayed at the Mayan Palace Riviera Maya between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. It was beautiful. We really enjoyed the pools. We rented a car for the week and were able to visit Cancun and Cozumel, where we snorkeled at Chankanaab Reef. We loved Xcaret and Chichen Itza.

Best Things Nearby:
Strolling down Fifth Ave in Playa del Carmen was a highlight of the trip.

Best Things About the Resort:
The pools were endless. The resort had beautiful grounds, and we were well taken care of by the staff.

Resort Experience:
The resort is very large, yet still maintained a feeling of intimacy because it was so spread out. We love to walk and were able to walk for hours on the grounds by taking different paths by the pools, through and around the buildings, and through the golf course. It was very secure, and being two older women with 26-year-old daughters, we felt safe on the grounds.
