Palm Beach Club Tenerife

Overview

Quote:
The excellent staff were very friendly and helpful. It was in a good location opposite the beach and within walking distance of hundreds of restaurants, pubs, etc. It was near Veronicas, but not near enough to be disturbed by any noise. The restaurant has a different special each day, as well as its normal menu, and the food is great. This hotel faces the seafront, so you don't need to do much, if any, uphill walking, as most of it's on flat ground - excellent!Quick Tips: Visit Eagle Mountain if you like birds of prey - it's a zoo, too. There is a free bus from the hotel. A trip to La Gomera is well worth the effort, and you should also visit Loro Parque for the best parrot show ever! Th...Read More

Best Things Nearby:It is near the beach, and there are loads of shops, restaurants, and pubs.Best Things About the Resort:The staff are great. There is a grocery on site and a supermarket about a 5-minute walk up the road. There is a great restaurant and snack bar on site if you don't fancy a walk.Resort Experience:This is a very friendly place, clean and tidy. There is a lovely pool and plenty of organised stuff for the kids and adults if you want it (bowls, petanque, darts, etc.) There are two Jacuzzis and a pool for the kiddies, as well as a big pool. Loro Park (Loro Parque-Parrot Park)

Attraction | "Lora Parque"

Quote:
This is an excellent zoo with a good variety of animals, including white lions and tigers, crocodiles, orangutans, meerkats, and many others. The zoo is at the top end of Tenerife, so it takes a while to get there by coach, but it's well worth a visit.

Eagle Mountain

Attraction

Quote:
Eagle Mountain is at the top of a hill just outside Los Cristianos. There is a free bus that goes there from many points on the island.

It has a small zoo. As well as being a bird-of-prey centre, there is a parrot show, which is quite good, but the best show is with the larger birds. They have buzzards, condors, vultures, eagles, and all sorts of impressive, larger-than-average birds of prey taking part in the exhibition. They also have white peacocks, which are beautiful. It's well worth the trip

Parques Exoticos

We felt this place could do with a bit of TLC. Judging by the visitors' comments book, it had once been very good. There is a free bus from town and the staff are very nice but there were no other visitors when we were there. The water in the enclosures looked very bad but the animals and birds seemed well fed and happy. It has great potential but was a bit disappointing.

Visit to La Gomera

Story/Tip

Quote:
We went by ferry from Los Cristianos Marina across the island of La Gomera, and from there, by coach around the island. It was a great day out and included a stop to have lunch and listen to the "whistling" language devised by the residents to communicate across the mountains! It was fantastic. Our guide spoke five or more languages fluently and was absolutely brilliant - he should be on stage!

It was quite a long day, but very interesting as we went all around the island, stopping several times to look at the terraces and going through national parks. It was well worth the trip.
