Small and friendly with a balcony overlooking the canal. It was a little expensive for a pensione and the rooms were small but it was clean. Most pensiones are like this in Venice.

This was a favorite for a breakfast of frittatas and cappuccino. More like a diner than anything, this trattoria was old but clean and the service was quick.

A visit here is a must. A great place to ponder Venetian culture and history, it is the center of Venice' sight- seeing tours after the canal rides, of course.

The Rialto bridge and its surroundings are a forefront and I recommend dinner at one of the exclusive restaurants in this area.
