Prices were more than reasonable all over Bali. We stayed at the Puri Santrian in Sanur. Its location is great and is in walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and other hotels. The buffet breakfast at the Beach Club restaurant was excellent. The Mezzanine Restaurant at the hotel was outstanding, and it was for a steak dinner. The pool at the hotel has a bar in the pool.
Things that are a must: a visit to the mask-maker, the puppet-maker, and the kite factory; a visit to Ubud; and lunch at the Lotus Restaurant in UBUD. A visit to the Sanur Beach Hotel Bamboo Bar which is just down from the Puri Santrian Hotel, during happy hour was a big highlight. There are great restaurants with great prices and cheap beer. The sunrise and sunset were spectacular. The spas at the hotel and in the area were very reasonable.
Bali was great, with friendly people and great food, and the cost of food, clothes, and paintings was very reasonable, the last of the good deals. I am not sure what made this trip outstanding, great prices, great people, great food, and spas, but I do know that the Tour Program Director Merta and his assistant Asmara made the trip outstanding. We went on this tour with Grand Circle who worked with Floressa Bali Tours for the Tour guides, Paul, the "main man" of Floressa set the tone on the initial get together and from then everything was great.
You cannot go wrong with this tour.
Quick Tips:
Have change, no one seems to have any and it was hot in March, so drink lots of water and wear a hat. The little restaurants along the beach area are great places to eat or just stop for a drink. It was very nice at night. There are lots of tour places that will take you scuba diving. If you go on your own, I would still contact Floressa Tours and ask for assistance, I am sure you can get it touch with them through the hotel or on the Internet.
Best Way To Get Around:
Taxis are all over. The "small vans" that stop and pick up people are great for short trips, but there is usually no A/C. It is easy to walk around.
