First Trip to Las Vegas

A June 2005 trip to Las Vegas by Ritzgolfer

On our first trip to Sin City, we figured we might as well live in luxury. Steve Wynn left out no detail when designing this breathtaking resort. From the minute you pull up the drive past the fountains, you know this place is special. The lobby was beautiful once you got past all of the tourists looking at the Chihully ceiling. One drawback of the Bellagio is the fact that there are a lot of visitors checking out the place. The room was very suitable. The beds were extremely comfortable for what little time we spent in them. The bathroom was amazing, with marble floors, steam shower, his and her sinks, and a beautiful tub. We were a little upset with the view at first. We were on the fourth f...Read More

Cypress Street Market at Caesar's Palace is much like any mall food court. You get handed a card upon entering, and when you order your food at the various booths, they scan your card. On your way out, the cashiers take your card and you pay for what you had. They have many different options. They have pizza, Chinese, burgers, deli food, and others. I had the burger, which was good, and Jennifer had Chinese. The food was served in huge portions.

Bellagio Buffet

Restaurant

Quote:
We ate at the Bellagio Buffet for breakfast. We got there at 8am, right when it opened, so we didn't have to wait in line. Our server, Kevin, was excellent. Our drinks never went empty. The choices on the buffet were excellent. This was not your typical breakfast buffet. There was something for everything. One downfall, though, was NO CHOCOLATE MILK. Adults like chocolate milk, too. Jennifer loved the fresh fruit. She got her money's worth in raspberries alone.

Burger Bar

Restaurant

Quote:
The Burger Bar is a unique concept. You can create up to 250 different kinds of burgers by choosing the type of meat, toppings, and buns. While this concept is unique, the restaurant itself was lacking something. The service was awful. We ate here after a long day of drinking in the casinos, so all we wanted to drink at dinner was water. The waitress rolled her eyes when we ordered water. Our food took what seemed like forever, and there was nothing special about it. After we got our food, we never saw our server again. For the price that you pay for everything, you expect it to be the best burger you have ever had, yet you can get a better burger at any chain restaurant, like a TGI Frid...Read More

This was our first gambling adventure in Vegas. We are not high-rollers, so we found the nickel slots quickly. After getting a quick drink from the cocktail waitress, we left the nickel slots and found the video poker machines. After a few minutes of this, we decided to continue on our way and cashed out. There were no big wins to speak of here, but it had a great atmosphere.

This is one of our favorite gambling spots. There are lots of penny slots to choose from. The penny slots were very good to us here. Jennifer played the Sno-Globes penny slots, and every time she played it, she won big as far as penny slots are concerned. I thought she was going to beat up an older couple who were sitting at the machine on one of our visits there. I won on the Men in Black Penny Slots (these slots are a continuing theme for most of our gambling triumphs).

This casino was nice, but it was not one of our favorites. We became big fans of penny slots, and there didn't seem to be too much to choose from here, so we were forced to be high-rollers and play nickel slots.

Men In Black came up big for us again, but this time in nickel form. Jennifer won $50 in the first minute at this casino, so she cashed out and we walked around to look at all of the sights. I didn't have as much luck as her. I walked out of there with my pockets a little lighter. Our rule was that we would walk away when one of us was up.
