The Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is the place where many people come to escape. Hollywood's list of who's who visits the place. You may be lucky and catch a glipse of Barbra Streisand, Kurt Russell, and Jack Nicholson. With wonderful grounds, golf course, stables and a full spa, you can relax in the hacienda style of the hotel. While you are enjoying the spa, you can take a visit to Ojai or hike the Los Padres National park or take a jeep tour. Try the restaurants in Ojai like the Calypso Bar and Grill or Antonios. The best way to enjoy Ojai is to explore the hiking trails, walk the grounds of the spa and have a massage.

Quick Tips:

The rooms can be pricey, so stay during the off season and avoid the music festival (May or June) or book early.

Best Way To Get Around:

You'll need a car to get there, but once you park it you will not want to leave.

L'AubergeBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

L'Auberge is a Belgian/French cuisine restaurant. There are many choices of entrees, salads, and soups. All entrees are served with vegetables and bread. If you are a dessert lover, save room for the chocolate mousse in a hazelnut meringue or apple tart. The food is rich, but you will have earned it if you have been hiking all day.

Suzanne's CuisineBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

This restaurant serves lunch and dinner, but the ambiance at night makes it a romantic spot. Suzanne is an Italian American who lived in France, so her cuisine has a mix of her background. All of the ingredients are fresh and 90% are from organic markets around Ojai. There are sandwiches for lunch with salads and for dinner seafood and pasta with poultry choices too! Save room for homemade ice cream or sorbet.

The Los Padres National Park has many trails and some range from moderate/easy difficulty to very difficult. There are some that are very steep climbing, so unless you are prepared with water and are in-shape for this type of climb, stick to the 2 mile hikes. The Wheeler gorge offers wild life viewing, toilets, camping, fishing and is about 30 miles from Ojai. Rose Valley falls is about 14 miles from Ojai and offers a view of the falls and trails for hikers and horseback riding. Rose Valley also has fishing. You do need a permit to fish. The park has many things to offer, so get a map before you plan your day.

The Valley of Shangri-La is the view from the Dennison Grade as seen by Ronald Coleman in the 1937 film classic "Lost Horizon." Follow Highway 150 east toward the Upper Ojai Valley, and stop at this vista point for an awesome sight.
