A July 2003 trip to Florence by karameister
Quote: Florence cannot be compared to other European cities. They all certainly have tons of history surrounding them, but Florence has retained that history so well and flourished.
Hotel
Bed and Bed Peterson is cute. It's small, and the decorations are vaguely child-like. For example, we had all sorts of vintage Pinocchio items in our room.
The perks: The bathroom is clean, they let you store items in a small refrigerator, and you have air-conditioning (a rarity in Europe)! Peterson is just a 5-minute walk from the main train station, and our room had a small balcony.
The downfalls: If you are looking for Peterson for the first time, it is a bit difficult to locate. It is on the second floor of a building, and you have to buzz to get up your first time.

Attraction | "Galleria del'Accademia (David)"
The rest of the museum is fairly typical. It's nothing to sneeze at, but nothing in the rest of the Galleria even compares to David.
The only downfall when I visited was one of the museum guards. She was walking around yelling "No cameras! Do not take pictures!"
