A June 2005 trip to Brooklyn by brooklynsylvia

If you have a day while you are in New York when you don't have theater tickets or museum plans, be sure to spend it in Brooklyn. Here is a suggestion for a day trip to the Brooklyn Heights-Cobble Hill area.

What can I say - this is probably some of the best chocolate I have ever sampled. Try the wicked chocolate and passion-fruit chocolate, and the hazelnut is a good standby.

If it is in winter that finds you there, definitely have a cup of his wicked hot chocolate.

Also, hop across the street to find his café, where he serves fantastic sandwiches.

Take your treats around the corner to Brooklyn Bridge Park to enjoy.

Restaurant

Family friendly, DJ spinning, bar-sitting, outdoor dining, a hip but not uptight atmosphere--all this describes Joya, along with the amazing Thai food that is so reasonably priced.

Attraction | "Walking the Brooklyn Bridge"

Walking on the Brooklyn Bridge is a great way to see both cities and get a sense of the scale. Start at the Manhattan side and walk across, getting the full view of the city behind you and Brooklyn in front of you.

Notice the Statue of Liberty, Govenor's Island, and Brooklyn Bridge Park on the opposite side.
