A spring weekend in Boston

A June 2005 trip to Boston by ams227

Upon visiting Boston for Jeanie and Adam's wedding, I spent a few hours walking around on a beautiful spring day and took in some of the sights of Beantown. I avoided Red Sox fans and embraced the beauty of this historic New England City.

We were on a high floor and had a panoramic view of the Charles. The room was clean and had all the necessary ammenities. The lobby was large and spacious, and the sports bar seemed hopping, as there was baseball that weekend. The location was central to all the sightseeing spots and close to shopping on Newbury Street.

After I finished walking around the shops on Newbury, I went over to Stephanie's for lunch with a local friend. I enjoyed a mixed salad with seared tuna and crunchy wontons. The food and the service were excellent, and the location can't be beat. It was a great spot to rest our feet and do a little local people-watching.

Attraction | "Shopping!"

Newbury Street seems like the place to see and be seen in Boston. The street is spotted with happening outdoor cafes and the upscale shops are complimented nicely by the brownstone architecture that reminds you of Boston's rich history.

Walking around Boston Common on a sunny day is very pleasant - not too crowded and filled with green grass and lots of flowers. Like a mini-Central Park!
