Beautiful Niagara Falls

An August 2000 trip to Niagara Falls by ornry

Quote: The Falls were BEAUTIFUL! I recommend eating at a Falls-view restaurant, like the Fallsview Dining Room and Table Rock Restaurant. Two of the attractions that you can do are Maid of the Mist and the Journey Behind the Falls.

Maid of the Mist

Attraction

Quote:
You get very wet, so you have to wear a raincoat. You get on a little river boat and take a 20-minute ride up to the Canadian Horseshoe and American Falls. When you get really close to the Canadian Falls and you're sitting at the front of the boat, you can't see anything, so I would suggest sitting in the back so you don’t get drenched.

Take a walk right beside the Rapid Whirlpool, down the Niagara River, and clear to the beautiful Falls. It is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs and very fun for the whole family!

Take a tour through a beautiful pathway and through an indoor garden, like a greenhouse, to see birds from all over the world. The birds are very colorful. And you can even buy a cup of food to feed them.

Attraction | "Niagara Shuttle Bus"

Quote:
You can take the shuttle bus to anywhere at Niagara. Or you can go on special tours that are around $50 to $120 a person on the shuttle or in a luxurious limo while drinking champagne. Tours include going to Maid of the Mist, Journey Behind the Falls, the Skyline ride, and more.

Skyway Helicopters

Attraction

Quote:
Skyway Helicopters is located at Niagara-on-the-Lake. You can take a tour in a helicopter over the whole city of Niagara, including Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Whirlpool Rapids, and the Falls. Or, if you want to just go over the lake or the Falls, you can. There is one tour that is for 25 minutes, the Romantic Tour. It is $128 a person, and you can snuggle up in a helicopter with your sweetheart while sipping champagne if you’re over 21. The shortest tour is 20 minutes, the longest 30 minutes.

IMAX Theatre Niagara Falls

Attraction | "IMAX Theatre"

Quote:
The movie screen is 6 stories high. It has such good graphics that you feel like you’re flying right over the Falls. And it tells when, how, and by who the Falls were discovered and the whole history behind it all. It even tells a little bit about some people who have gone over the Falls in wheel barrels. It is about $12.99 a person.

You walk through a garden a lot like the one at the Niagara Falls Aviary. Walk and see all of the beautiful butterflies.

Hint: They are attracted to red! If you wear a red shirt, they come and stick to you! At the end, there is a gift shop.

Casino Niagara

Attraction

Quote:
There are actually two casinos at Niagara Falls. The Casino Niagara has all windows that are from the floor to ceiling in the gambling area. It is very fun! And it is right beside the Sheraton Hotel.

Put on a raincoat, because you will get wet and they have them there for you to wear. Walk down under a tunnel literally underneath the Falls. You can go out onto a deck and stand right up next to the Canadian Falls, or, if you do this attraction on the American side in New York, you can stand next to the American Falls. If you are in a wheelchair, an elevator can take you down.
