A June 2005 trip to Mackinac Island by Gypsy Canuck
Quote: We took just a day visit to see the lilacs in bloom on the island. Once a year, the festival stars the blooms and the island comes alive with natural colors.
Attraction
It drizzled the day we were there, so we went into the old churches along the way to avoid the showers. There was a warm rain that made the lilacs smell wonderful as we walked along.
It is a quaint and wonderful island with only one motorized vehicle allowed - the ambulance. We watched a funeral with a horse-drawn hearse. It is like going back in time.
