If I could pick one word to discribe my experience in London, I would have to say rich, and I am not talking British pounds, although there was a lot of that to go around. I am talking rich in culture and personality. I would certainly travel there again.

Changing of The Guards
The Changing of the Guards is a must-see! Take a cruise on the River Thames, as the views are to die for. You have to visit Oxford Circus (the local favorite) for affordable shopping.

Quick Tips:

Take advantage of the tons and tons of sightseeing tour-group packages. A lot of them come with lunch or dinner.

Best Way To Get Around:

The Tube is the best way. Taxis can get expensive. You can get a Tube (subway) and city bus combo pass for £6 and ride unlimited for the day.

Thistle Victoria

The rooms are of a Victorian-style decor. There are nice-size bathrooms and huge windows. The service was good. One tip: you could not use pre-paid calling cards in the hotel room. We had to find certain phone booths (BK phone booths) that accepted them. The Thistle Victoria is in the heart of London, close to everything.

National Gallery

The British Museum is a definite must-see. It has the largest Egyptian artifacts aside from Egypt itself. Some of the many Roman structures seen at the museum were indeed too large to fit through the museum doors. They had to be disassembled and then reassembled once inside this grand museum. The cafeteria-syle eatery has lots of dishes to chose from and lots of seating to rest those sore feet. This is a fun place for adults and children alike that really has something for everyone. Please do make the British Museum one of your destination stops when visiting London.
