As you are all aware, Disney can be an overwhelming experience. Here's a new and relaxing alternative.

Disney's BoardWalk Villas

Even if you are not a member of the Disney Vacation Club, there is a little-known gem amongst all the Disney resorts. These properties are rentable if members of the vacation club are not using them. They are available as studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and Select Grand Villa (three-bedroom) units. They come with a master suite and kitchen and even a washer, dryer, and dishes in the units. It is great to go on vacation with up to 12 people and all being able to have your own space. It was great being able to eat comfortably in our own accommodations and store those snack foods, breakfast items, and even desserts in our own room. The accommodations are roomy and tranquil, two words that are not always synonymous with Disney. These accommodations also exist at the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and at the strictly member-type lodging at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs.

Beaches N' Cream Soda Shop

If you're looking for a fun ice cream shop, be sure to stop here. It will remind those from NY of the former Jahn's Ice Cream Shop, down to the "Kitchen Sink" ice cream, which is served in its very own sink. This place is especially fun if you are celebrating a birthday. This is one fun place to go, but beware, seating is limited. Get there early or go at off-times, especially during peak periods.

Brown Derby Restaurant

We've eaten in both Brown Derbys in Disney and Las Vegas, and the food, in a word, was disappointing. We ordered food which was inedible, either by taste or by being overcooked. Do yourself a favor and save your money for some of the better eating establishments. The only fun things were the characters on the wall.

Character Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner

Minnie Minnehue Charachter Breakfast at the Polynesian. There is plentiful tasty breakfast and a photo of your family to boot. This is the best breakfast in the park. The characters come around frequently.

Polynesian Show

For those who like to feel like you took a turn and wound up in Hawaii, this is a fun dining experience. Upon arrival, you all receive lei's and have a group photo taken that you can purchase during the show. This is a definite must-do. Even children will enjoy the evening.

California Grill

This is a great place to eat. Be sure to make reservations around the fireworks time and go on the observation deck to watch the wishes fireworks in the Magic Kingdom. The waiters are great, and the food selections are excellent. They even let you relax, turn down the lights, and play the coordinating soundtrack while the fireworks are on. This is a meal not to be rushed.

This is the place to be if you love sports. The food is quite tasty, and the atmosphere is great, whether you are looking for late-night entertainment or just a meal.
