For children and families the Center for Puppetry Arts features puppet shows year-round, as well as an interactive museum displaying more than 200 puppets from around the world. The Atlanta Botanical Garden recently opened the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Children's Garden, including a child-sized amphitheater and a butterfly garden. SciTrek, Georgia's only interactive science and technology center, presents more than 150 permanent exhibits that allow visitors to explore light and color, simple machines, perception and illusion. Kids will especially enjoy Zoo Atlanta and its new Giant Pandas, Yang Yang and Lun Lun.
Atlanta's mild climate allows visitors to enjoy outdoor activities such as festivals throughout the fall season and even into winter (although it was mighty cold during our vist to normally HOTLANTA!).

Learn about Atlanta's rich African-American history at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site in downtown's Sweet Auburn area. Buckhead should be the destination during the holidays and beyond. Shopping malls like Lenox Square (a Simon Mall for Mallperks) and Phipps Plaza, and any number of exclusive boutiques, the choice for the savvy shopper. Buckhead also is home to the Atlanta History Center, top restaurants, hotels and the city's most beautiful residential area.
