We spent 3 wonderful days in Prague. Much of our free time was spent drinking pilsner in Old Town Square and people-watching.

Walk throughout the streets. Take the underground transport and catch a tram. My most favorable moments were doing what the Czech people do every day. When you get out of the tourist area, stop in a pub and talk with the locals.

Quick Tips:

For 13 Czech korunas (about .52), you can take the underground transport and transfer to the tram within 1 hour.

Best Way To Get Around:

Walk! Get a good map from the concierge and then walk. You can get everywhere in little or no time. DO NOT RENT A CAR. Parking is scarce and streets are narrow. We rented a car to drive to Budapest, but did so as we were ready to leave. Taxis are quite reasonable as well.

Intercontinental Praha

The Intercontinental Praha is a very nice five-star property in an excellent location near the Jewish Quarter and right on the river. Charles Bridge is an 8- to 10-minute walk. The rooms are very spacious, with all of the amenities for a business trip. There is high-speed Internet in the room. The view from the restaurant on the top floor is breathtaking.

Restaurant owned by Staropramen Brewery

This restaurant, owned by the brewery that makes Staropramen, is just to the left of the Intercontinental hotel as you exit the property on the corner. The food is Czech cuisine, with many options of beer from the local brewery. The prices are a third of the tourist restaurants you encounter, and the desserts are delighful. Service is very good.
