Besides the magic of the red rocks and the natural beauty that surrounds Sedona, you cannot help but enjoy the creations by artists. Spend time talking to these artists as they appreciate the magic of Sedona and interpret the beauty in their paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures.

Tlaquepaque
There are numerous places to stay ranging from a Doubletree with all its amenities to other hotels with more ambiance and special views. If you want a taste of art, visit the Tlaqupaque Arts and Crafts Village. Enjoy the wide range of arts from abstract wind sculptures to American Indian paintings. Talk to the people in the gallery as they will tell you stories of Sedona as well as the art they have created. They also have recommendations for dining like the Coffee Pot for all day omelettes.

Quick Tips:

Of course, go hiking and take a jeep tour, but visit the galleries.

Best Way To Get Around:

A car is a must to get around town. There is no public transport available.

Hotel | "Doubletree Sedona"

If you are looking for a full scale resort out of the main streets of Sedona, then the Doubletree will have what you are looking for. Besides the chocolate chip cookies at check in, you will enjoy golf, fitness room and several restaurants to have lunch or dinner. The Doubletree is an all suite hotel, but be careful, the mini suite is just what they mean, a miniature room. The full suite is just like a regular room with a different area for a sitting room. Rooms either face the parking lot or the mountains and pool. Make sure you ask about your view. The Doubletree is at the edge of town, so you may want to be closer to things or enjoy the golf facilities that it offers.

Restaurant

Heartline Cafe
The Heartline cafe's message is one of long life, health, and good luck. We had some luck finding this special restaurant. They give you some interesting vegetable dips with your bread to start. They have such a combination of flavors that you cannot put your finger on what is in the dip. You also cannot stop eating the dip. They have many choices on the menu and get fresh items of fish and beef daily (some flown in from Phoenix). If you like fish, try the local trout with pistachio crust. If you have a sweet tooth, do not miss the white chocolate mousse. They also have an extensive wine list if you are a wine taster. The atmosphere is warm, quiet, and low lighting. The service is excellent.

Coffee PotBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

At the Coffee Pot, you may wait a bit for your table and you cannot make reservations. The menu is large and full of many omelette choices served all day. You can have side items of grits, potatoes, spinach or fries. All is made to order and very fresh. The biscuits are just like your Grandma made (if you are from the south). You cannot go wrong with the Coffee Pot where locals seem to visit regularly.

Oaxaca Restaurante & CantinaBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant | "Oaxaca "

Oaxaca is a Mexican restaurant with a fun atmosphere, but the food is nothing to rave about if you like Mexican food. The food seems to be a bit heavy on the grease, butter, and less of a focus on the healthier or tastier choices that Mexican food can offer. We did enjoy the local trout, but the vegetables were swimming in butter. If you want good Mexican food, try El Rincon at Tlaquepaque. Otherwise, if you enjoy a fun atmosphere and a good margarita, then try Oaxaca.

Attraction

Tlaquepaque is an artist village that resembles the Mexican village in Guadalajara. There are over 40 shops and 3 restaurants to enjoy a relaxed meal in a great setting. For good Mexican food, try El Rincon. There are many galleries expressed in a variety of medium so you will enjoy seeing the paintings, sculptures, glassware and a few shops too!
