A May 2005 trip to Orlando by pscwmoms

Quote: As with most trips, we planned. The bullet hole caused a late arrival. We did have a great trip to WDW and Orlando and also saw my brother and aunt.

Cypress Pointe Resort Orlando FL 5-2005

Overview

Quote:
We always take days off or out of the park. This trip, we had a flat ouside of Nashville MP 186. After changing the tire and finding a Wal-Mart down the road a ways, we had more problems. The wheel had a perfect round hole in it. The tire and wheel had been shot. The next morning, we found a wheel, only to learn the bullet had hit the brake drum and cracked the drum. This was the driver's rear. So with a new tire, wheel, amd brake drum, we conitued on our trip to Orlando, FL.

Quick Tips:

Buy a book or two on Walt Disney World. Read them and have a plan on what you want to do.

Best Things Nearby:Everything. Walt Disney World is just down the road. Orlando is at your doorstep. Food places are very close, as well as the grocery store.Best Things About the Resort:It has been redone, so everything is like new. Two master bedrooms, three bathrooms, washer and dryer. TV in small bedroom only had a DVD player (also played CDs) and was not on the cable, no TV channels.Resort Experience:Very nice. Three-bedroom unit was great, and we had more than enought room for four adults and one child. We loved the volcano pool--my son could not get enought of it. We arrived late, and they added our friends to the reservation and allowed them to check ...Read More

This was wonderful. At the buffet, everyone found more than one thing they liked. Desserts were small, but that way, you could taste more than one. Thre was prime rib, lamb two ways, and more. There were three types of hummus and flat bread. Salads were too many to list, but if I was still a veggie, I could still eat here.

This is the one place we thought about missing. Friends said it was only good, and they felt it had spice in everything they had. We did not feel that way at all. The food had real flavor! And many dishes had no spice at all. We will be returning, and it's outside the park, so we can go on an off-park day and enjoy.

Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival

Attraction | "Walt Disney World"

The flower show at EPCOT is a great time to go. May, before the crowds, was so nice this year. Our guidebook let us know which part to go to. Get a book and read--don't go in blind and think you can just walk in and go. You will, but your waits in line will be longer without a plan. Our book even told us which rides to fast-pass and when. We never waited in a line more than 15 minutes, and most were 5 to 10 at the longest.

SORIN was great; it had the longest line, and it was the newest ride at EPCOT. We do one park all day, then take a day off. In one week, we do three parks. Rest is part of our vacation too.
