My brother who lives in Paradise Valley took me to the Sanctuary one night for after-dinner drinks. It is the perfect place to sit outside in the warm desert air with a beautiful view of the Phoenix lights. This is also a spa and hotel which I've heard is excellent. The architecture itself is worth the visit.

Bandera'sBest of IgoUgo

Restaurant

Bandera's has the best wood spit-roasted chicken I've tasted since we were in Spain. The perfect meal: start with the grilled artichoke, then have the roasted chicken, coleslaw (incredible!), and garlic mashed potatoes.

Special tip: If you pull around to the back parking lot, you'll see a door with a sign for "Flying Chicken." Pull up and they'll come to the car to take your to go order.

The Biltmore Fashion Park is a great place to wander in and out of some unique (Haus, modern home accessories) and well-known (Pottery Barn, Saks, Apple) retailers. This place is already beautiful, with plenty of outdoor seating, gardens, and fountains, but parent company Westcor is beginning a major renovation, I think this year. Also check out the restaurants—WiFi at Coffee Plantation, wonderful Asian fusion food at the Bamboo Club, French traditional at Fermier's, and others.
