A May 2005 trip
to Philadelphia by Craig Randall
Quote: One of those "stumbled into it" kind of places, my good fortune continued as I looked for a quiet place to catch up with a friend.
The virenike were delicious. A bit different than the pot stickers you get at your run-of-the-mill Chinese joint, these were veal, not pork. Delicious. That was one appetizer, and we ordered the cheese/fruit plate, which offered brie and soft cheese, apples, oranges, and "fancy" (Ritz) crackers for spreading. For some reason, it was fantastic, the cheese of course, but the fruit just worked.
My buddy ordered the "famous" burger. Judging by the fact that he was done 5 minutes before me, it was either delicious or I was talking too much. He assured me it was the former. I opted for a cheesesteak on foccacia bread, which was fine by me. The only drawback to the evening was the dry cheesecake. My friend noted that his was still frozen; perhaps the Costco delivery was a little late that day.
